TJ Fox, Senior Vice President at Verizon Business, emphasized that secure connectivity in smart meters simplifies resource management, reduces waste, and eases grid burden. He noted that this technology will be critical for utilities as they adapt to evolving energy demands and minimize disruptions. Amol Motivala, President of Honeywell Smart Energy, highlighted the role of AI, Cloud, and 5G in driving autonomy for utilities, reimagining energy distribution through real-time connectivity.

The smart meters also support remote upgradability, extending their useful life and reducing technician visits. This reduces service interruptions and enhances customer satisfaction.
