en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 21, Spanish energy group Iberdrola released its operating results for the first three quarters of 2026, raising its full-year adjusted net profit growth forecast from more than 8% to at least 10%, while confirming its target of exceeding €90 billion in global regulated grid assets by 2030. The company currently holds approximately €56 billion in regulated grid assets, with grid investment reaching €6.3 billion in the first three quarters, up 28% year on year, mainly directed toward transmission and distribution infrastructure in the UK, the US, and Brazil.

Total investment in the first three quarters reached €10.1 billion, up 13% year on year, with approximately 62% allocated to grid operations. The UK, the US, and Brazil absorbed nearly 75% of the group's investment. As transmission and distribution network construction and upgrades continue across various countries, regulated grid assets grew 14% year on year, and adjusted EBITDA from grid operations rose 15%, driven by increased contributions from transmission assets.

Generation investment during the same period totaled approximately €3.6 billion, driving 3,300 MW of new installed capacity over the past 12 months. Under its 2025–2030 development plan, the group intends to add 15 GW of generation capacity in parallel with grid expansion. The company is now taking a more selective approach to renewable generation projects, allocating more capital to power networks with regulated return mechanisms.

In the first three quarters, Iberdrola reported net profit of €5.8 billion, up 10% year on year, including gains from the sale of Mexican energy assets. Excluding the impact of that transaction, adjusted net profit was €5.1 billion, up 9% year on year. The company expects adjusted net profit to grow at an average annual rate of 10% over the next five years and plans to announce further operational and investment plans at its Capital Markets Day in March 2027.
