en.Wedoany.com Reported - Roll-on/roll-off operator Sallaum Lines has recently placed an order with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) for two 8,600-CEU pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs), the largest vessel order in terms of capacity in the company's history.

Following the recent delivery of the LNG dual-fuel vessels Ocean Express and Ocean Navigator, Sallaum Lines has once again signed a contract with Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI). The two previously delivered vessels each have a cargo capacity of 7,400 CEU, while the new ships will further increase capacity to 8,600 CEU.
The new vessels are designed with dimensions of 199.9 meters by 38 meters by 46 meters, featuring five hoistable decks that can flexibly accommodate various types of cargo, including passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy roll-on/roll-off equipment, and project cargo. Sallaum Lines stated that the vessel design optimizes cargo loading capacity while ensuring broad port compatibility.
Company Director Hassan Sallaum noted that the new ships' large capacity, dual-fuel, and ammonia-ready design will help the company expand capacity while pursuing low-emission goals, emphasizing that sustainability and commercial growth must advance in tandem.
Earlier this year, Sallaum Lines also took delivery of the sister vessel Ocean Legacy, a PCTC of the same series as Ocean Express and Ocean Navigator.
