en.Wedoany.com Reported - Huawei has unveiled 10 "AI-Optical Network (AI-ON)" solutions at MWC Shanghai 2026, aimed at helping telecom operators build AI-centric networks. These 10 AI-ON innovative products and solutions have been fully upgraded, with the goal of accelerating operators' transition into the token monetization era.

Jin Zhen, Vice President of Huawei's Optical Business Product Line, delivering a keynote speech

As an infrastructure, AI-ON efficiently supports a wide range of computing applications and leverages large models and AI agents to achieve a high degree of network autonomy. Jin Zhen, Vice President of Huawei's Optical Business Product Line, stated that Huawei is advancing an optical-AI convergence strategy, promoting the synergistic development of optical and AI technologies. The AI-FAN and AI-OTN product series will help operators build AI-centric all-optical target networks, achieve value-centric gigabit and 10-gigabit operations, deliver high-quality computing power access and user experience, and drive the widespread adoption of AI services.

In terms of specific products, Huawei has launched multiple series. For gigabit popularization, the AI-FTTR product series includes AI home gateways, AI smart boxes, and tri-band/dual-band Wi-Fi 7 FTTR. For 10-gigabit leadership, products include the industry's first large-scale commercially deployed high-density 50G PON service board and an upgraded 50G PON FTTR supporting tri-band Wi-Fi 7. For millisecond-level computing networks, three solutions have been introduced: micro OXC, end-to-end OSU/fgOTN, and OTN-QKD integration.

Additionally, Huawei has launched the industry's only ultra-large-scale OTN cluster solution for intra-city and inter-data center interconnection (DCI), a submarine cable and terrestrial optical cable convergence solution, and network recovery solutions such as AI DAS and 50ms WSON for building elastic optical networks.

China is prioritizing the construction of next-generation optical communications to support the AI era at the national level. Han Xia, Executive Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Technology Committee of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), pointed out that low-latency, high-capacity, and highly reliable intelligent optical networks are not only the core of next-generation communication networks but also the cornerstone of new digital infrastructure. Evolving optical networks from basic "transmission pipelines" to "network-intelligence convergence" will determine the future of China's optical networks.
