en.Wedoany.com Reported - Artificial intelligence coding startup 8090 Labs, founded by Chamath Palihapitiya, has completed a $135 million Series A funding round led by Salesforce Ventures.

Participating investors include WndrCo, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg; Craft Ventures, founded by David Sacks; The Production Board, founded by David Friedberg; Launch, founded by Jason Calacanis; as well as angel investors such as Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora and Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo.

Palihapitiya founded 8090 Labs in January 2024, with the goal of providing specialized AI coding agents for enterprise programming teams. Its product, Software Factory, helps programmers use AI to build production-quality software rather than just generating prototypes, while offering enterprise-required control features such as audit trails.

Palihapitiya announced on the X platform that with the completion of this funding round, he will serve as the startup's CEO, not just a board member. He stated that the current AI boom resembles the rise of social media during his early tenure as a senior executive at Facebook, and said he has been waiting for the right moment to return to a full-time operational role since leaving Facebook, believing that the product being built now is even more important.
