en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chanel's perfume production base, Venette, located in the Oise department of northern France, has officially commenced operations, with all perfume production now centralized at this facility.

The project, with an investment of €150 million, took a decade to complete. Chanel purchased the 18-hectare site in 2016, announced construction plans in 2022, received the factory in November 2025, and achieved full operations in June 2026. The main production building covers 30,000 square meters within a comprehensive factory complex spanning 41,600 square meters, with an annual design capacity of 50 million bottles. All perfume lines, including N°5 and CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE, are produced here. According to Chanel, CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE is already its best-selling perfume series globally.
The new production base will create 250 to 300 jobs, with approximately 200 employees transferring from Chanel's existing Compiègne factory, which will be converted to specialize in beauty product manufacturing.
The luxury perfume market is growing faster than the overall beauty market. According to Grand View Research, the global luxury perfume market was valued at approximately $25 billion in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.2%. Chanel's 2025 annual financial report shows total revenue of $19.3 billion, a 2% year-on-year increase, with perfume business being the main growth driver. At the end of 2025, L'Oréal also invested €60 million to expand its perfume factory in Gauchy, France.
