en.Wedoany.com Reported - Last week, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Kuwait, Yerzhan Elekeev, met with Kuwait's Minister of State for Sustainable Development, Reem Al-Fulaij. The talks focused on prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in food security and the possibility of jointly implementing investment projects in the agricultural-industrial complex (AIC).

Elekeev highlighted Kazakhstan's significant potential as one of the region's leading agricultural producers and expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to become a long-term partner for Kuwait in ensuring food security. He detailed Kazakhstan's supply potential in agricultural products such as wheat, beef, lamb, poultry, and vegetable oils, as well as the possibility of attracting Kuwaiti investment to build modern production and processing enterprises in Kazakhstan.

Special attention was given to Kuwait's plans to establish a special economic zone focused on agricultural processing. The Kazakh side proposed considering a production-logistics model that would make Kazakhstan a reliable manufacturing base, supplying raw materials and finished products for Kuwait's future processing capacity.

The two sides also discussed the prospects for linking the under-construction regional railway network, the Gulf Railway, with international transport corridors passing through Kazakhstan, primarily the North-South International Transport Corridor. In the long term, this would create more efficient logistics chains for Kazakhstan's agricultural exports to Gulf countries.

Reem Al-Fulaij expressed Kuwait's interest in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan, including implementing investment projects in the agricultural-industrial complex (AIC), developing joint production, and increasing long-term agricultural supplies from Kazakhstan to the Kuwaiti market.
