en.Wedoany.com Reported - Frontier Agriculture, a UK crop production and grain marketing company, has completed its acquisition of Aberdeen Grain Co-operative, securing its 65,000-tonne grain storage and drying facility at Whiterashes in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The deal was first announced in January 2026 and formally concluded following the completion of due diligence and approval from co-operative members.

Aberdeen Grain was established in 1984, founded by 32 members with a storage capacity of 20,000 tonnes, and has since grown to around 180 members. Following the acquisition, the co-operative will enter a members' voluntary liquidation, a standard legal process for member-owned co-operatives after completing such transactions. Former Aberdeen Grain employees will transfer to Frontier under the TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)) regulations.

Frontier stated that the acquisition will strengthen its grain handling network in Scotland, providing growers with long-term infrastructure security. Growers will continue to use the Whiterashes facility, with grain handling, customer service, and support remaining unchanged during the transition period. Simon Christensen, Frontier's grain director, said the acquisition strengthens the company's grain handling network in Scotland and reflects its long-term commitment to supporting growers. Murray Forsyth, chairman of Aberdeen Grain, said the deal provides continuity for growers and employees and secures the future of the Whiterashes facility.

Frontier Agriculture, established in 2005, is a joint venture between Cargill plc and Associated British Foods and is a leading crop production and grain marketing company in the UK. Prior to this acquisition, the company operated 13 grain storage and drying facilities across Great Britain.
