China's National Energy Administration Holds the First Senior Officials' Meeting of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership in 2026 in Beijing

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, China's National Energy Administration (NEA) convened the first Senior Officials' Meeting of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership in 2026 in Beijing. Liu Deshun, Chief Engineer of the NEA, Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy, Alireza Taztarab, and Cuba's Ambassador to China, Alberto Blanco Silva, attended and delivered speeches.

During the meeting, the Partnership Secretariat reported on the work progress of the Belt and Road Energy Partnership in 2026 and the work plan for the second half of the year, and introduced the proposal for establishing a council and the preliminary arrangements for the fourth Ministerial Meeting. Representatives from member countries presented their respective national energy development situations, highly recognized the important role of the Partnership in promoting practical energy cooperation, and offered constructive suggestions for improving the Partnership's mechanisms. The meeting focused on key matters such as the establishment of the council and preparations for the fourth Ministerial Meeting, building consensus among countries, refining operational plans, and improving platform mechanisms, thereby laying a solid foundation for the fourth Belt and Road Energy Ministerial Meeting scheduled to be held in Qingdao in November this year.

Over 80 representatives from 18 member countries, along with officials from the Shandong Provincial Energy Administration, the Qingdao Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the Partnership Secretariat Office, and heads of various working groups under the cooperation network, attended the meeting.
