en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tech Mahindra has signed a multi-year cooperation agreement with Germany's Telefónica (Telefónica Germany) to jointly build a next-generation private cloud platform, providing Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities for telecom and enterprise workloads to accelerate cloud-native transformation. The collaboration aims to build a scalable, open digital infrastructure to support the modernization of telecom and enterprise operations.

Under the plan, Tech Mahindra will integrate its platform engineering capabilities and AI-driven operational framework into Telefónica Germany's infrastructure modernization initiative to jointly establish a PaaS environment as the foundation for a comprehensive private cloud. This platform will provide a reusable template for open digital infrastructure transformation, integrating service components such as computing, storage, backup, containers, graphics processing units (GPUs), and ransomware protection.
Telefónica Germany aims to gain a flexible cloud environment through this platform to support cloud-native applications, AI-driven operations, and long-term infrastructure transformation. The company expects this move to support infrastructure sovereignty goals, drive telecom cloud development, reduce reliance on proprietary virtualization environments, and enhance B2B service capabilities through a unified partner model. Harshul Asnani, President and Head of Europe at Tech Mahindra, noted that telecom operators increasingly need open, scalable, cloud-native infrastructure to match evolving digital service demands and improve operational efficiency. He stated that this collaboration integrates automation, flexibility, and resilience, with both parties leveraging platform engineering, cloud-native technologies, and AI-driven automation to lay the foundation for next-generation telecom infrastructure while supporting enterprise and B2B business growth.
Under the cooperation agreement, Tech Mahindra will deploy AI-driven automation, cloud-native orchestration, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, and self-service platform management capabilities to support the platform's operation. The infrastructure is designed to enhance operational flexibility and resilience, capable of supporting both Telefónica Germany's legacy business and its next-generation services. Markus Ruwisch, Head of Infrastructure Platforms and Services at Telefónica Germany, stated that this collaboration aligns with the company's strategy to drive infrastructure modernization through a more open and flexible PaaS architecture. He noted that the platform foundation built with Tech Mahindra will support Germany's future AI-native digital services, enterprise workloads, and evolving B2B needs, while strengthening operational control, digital sovereignty, and long-term infrastructure resilience.
This agreement expands the existing partnership between the two companies and is part of their ongoing efforts to advance telecom infrastructure modernization through cloud-native and AI-driven technologies.
