en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is becoming the primary alternative for reducing global aviation carbon emissions. With growing international decarbonization targets and increasing demand for low-carbon fuels, Brazil has favorable conditions to expand production of this fuel, particularly suited for developing production routes based on ethanol.

This topic will be a key focus of discussions at the FenaBio conference, to be held on August 12-13 during the 32nd Fenasucro & Agrocana trade fair. The conference will bring together business leaders and experts to explore the challenges and opportunities for SAF production in Brazil, with participants including Gilberto Peralta, President of Airbus Brasil, and José Magalhães Fernandes, President of Honeywell Latin America. The participation of these executives highlights the growing attention the aviation industry is paying to sustainable fuel opportunities and Brazil's production potential.

This trend is also reflected in project developments across Brazil. JetBio (a subsidiary of Summit Agricultural Group) has announced land reservation in the city of Paulínia (SP) for the construction of a large-scale biorefinery dedicated to producing SAF via the alcohol-to-jet route. The project is expected to involve an investment of approximately $2 billion, with an estimated annual production capacity of around 1 billion liters.

The FenaBio discussions come amid expanding investments and growing interest in production routes. Topics will include challenges in scaling up fuel supply, technological advances, and opportunities for Brazil to strengthen its participation in this sector.

Paulo Montabone, Director of the Fenasucro & Agrocana trade fair, stated that these discussions are taking place at a crucial moment for Brazil's bioenergy industry. "SAF represents an opportunity to expand bioenergy's contribution to the global energy transition. FenaBio was created precisely to foster these connections between knowledge, technology, investment, and business, bringing together the main players to build these new industrial chains," he said.

Registration for the 32nd Fenasucro & Agrocana trade fair is free for visitors, consulting firms, and media, and can be done through the event's official website. Tickets for the second edition of FenaBio are also on sale.

Fenasucro & Agrocana is the world's largest bioenergy industry chain trade fair. Its 32nd edition in 2026 will bring together visitors from over 80 countries and more than 600 exhibiting brands, including major domestic and international manufacturers of equipment, solutions, and technologies focused on biofuel and clean energy production. Organized by RX and exclusively supported by CEISE Br, the fair has established itself as the main connection platform between suppliers and buyers in the bioenergy industry. In 2026, the fair will also host the 13th ATALAC Latin American Congress, an international event organized by the Brazilian Society of Technical Experts in the Sugar and Alcohol Industry (STAB).
