en.Wedoany.com Reported - John Deere, in partnership with Tarter USA, has introduced a new line of American-made flexible wing rotary mowers. Under the Frontier brand, the product line offers cutting widths of 10 feet and 12 feet.
The FC50 series mowers are designed to pair with John Deere 4 Series and 5E3 Series tractors, featuring a drawbar hitch that rotates 25 degrees. The 10-foot model has a hitch weight of 830 pounds, while the 12-foot model weighs 850 pounds.
This series is equipped with a G8 CV axle, rated at 175 horsepower at the splitter box and 90 horsepower at the outer wing panels. The gearboxes are surrounded by 3/4-inch steel plates and nylon bushings for enhanced durability; magnetic gearbox covers help reduce vibration. Operators can replace the skid shoes by removing four bolts and adjust the suspension system to mitigate impact loads during cutting and transport, while also regulating the height and tilt of the attachment. The mowers are available with pneumatic or laminated tires.
Tarter USA will manufacture this new product line at its facility in Liberty, Kentucky, which is equipped with modern manufacturing equipment including precision laser cutting, robotic fabrication, and integrated robotic and manual welding systems. Tarter stated that since 2015, the company has continuously invested in automation and advanced technologies to ensure consistent product quality, production efficiency, and scalability. The launch of this product line has created 26 new jobs at the Tarter facility.
The mower's performance and durability have been validated through real-world field testing and laboratory simulations designed to replicate long-term operating conditions.
John Doyle, John Deere's cooperative product manager, stated that this collaboration represents the best of American manufacturing, combining John Deere's understanding of customer needs with Tarter's manufacturing expertise to deliver a product that meets the demands of today's operators while reinforcing a commitment to quality and reliability.
