en.Wedoany.com Reported - China's first pure electric small rice-wheat harvester has been put into operation in Shima Town, Jiangjin District, Chongqing. The harvester was jointly developed by the Nanjing Institute of Agricultural Mechanization under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Chongqing Xinyuan Agricultural Machinery. Designed for hilly and mountainous terrain, the harvester features a lightweight dedicated electric chassis, enabling pivot turns to easily handle corner operations and U-turns on small terraced plots, while also meeting complex harvesting scenarios such as climbing and transitioning on slopes of up to 25 degrees.

The harvester offers a pure electric range of up to 5 hours, covering an operating area of 8-10 mu, and can be fully charged in 2 hours with fast charging. Compared to traditional fuel-powered harvesters, it is not only more environmentally friendly but also reduces the energy cost per mu of rice harvested to below one yuan.
