en.Wedoany.com Reported - The No. 1 gas turbine of the Saudi Rumah 2 Combined Cycle Power Plant project, contracted by Harbin Electric International, was successfully lifted and installed at 12:40 local time on June 30, marking the full commencement of the unit's installation work.

The gas turbine is the core equipment of a combined cycle power plant. The No. 1 gas turbine, weighing 234 tons, is an ultra-heavy and oversized component, posing extremely high transportation challenges. Due to external environmental factors, the originally planned transport route was restricted. The transport team ultimately selected a new route traversing Saudi Arabia from west to east, covering an inland transport distance of nearly 2,000 kilometers. By conducting advance on-site surveys, planning a dedicated route, and coordinating passage clearance along the way, the logistics team mitigated transportation risks and ensured the turbine arrived at the site as scheduled. During the preparation phase for the lifting, the project team visited several similar projects for reference, optimized the specialized lifting plan through multiple rounds of discussions, and organized several joint on-site inspections and comprehensive acceptance checks. A complete safety and technical briefing was provided to all construction personnel to ensure the smooth completion of the installation operation.

The Saudi Rumah 2 project is a core project in Saudi Arabia's energy transition strategy. Once completed, it will provide power support for local industrial development and smart city construction, and is one of the key projects to realize Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" and promote economic diversification. The achievement of this key milestone—the installation of Gas Turbine No. 1—marks a new phase in the project's installation work. Moving forward, the project team will strictly adhere to safety bottom lines and rigorously control project quality, cooperating with all participating units to ensure the project is completed on schedule and with high quality.
