en.Wedoany.com Reported - ASX-listed mineral exploration company Kaoko Metals has identified a copper mineralization outcrop at its newly named Bootless Prospect during the first field work program at the Chalkos copper/silver project in Namibia.

The mineralized prospect is located within a roughly 2-kilometer-long corridor between the known Otniel and Donkey Hill prospects, further expanding the project's potential. Field work has also extended the known surface copper mineralization at these two prospects.

At the Bootless Prospect, copper mineralization is primarily hosted in quartz-carbonate veins roughly parallel to the primary rock formations, with disseminated mineralization also occurring in dolomitized rocks near the veins.

The mineralization is dominated by secondary oxidized copper minerals such as chrysocolla, malachite, and azurite, formed by the weathering of primary sulfide mineralization.

This differs from the mineralization found at Donkey Hill and Otniel, where higher-grade copper mineralization is primarily associated with quartzite units.

At Otniel, recent mapping and field reconnaissance have extended the known surface extent of visible copper mineralization approximately 200 meters to the south, increasing the total strike length to about 600 meters.

Chip samples collected from a newly identified overburden location also revealed a potentially separate mineralized layer above the previously delineated zone, indicating the potential for multiple stacked mineralized lenses.

Meanwhile, at Donkey Hill, mapping has extended visible copper mineralization along three north-south trending mineralized zones approximately 60 meters beyond the Donkey Hill East Prospect, increasing the total surface extent of mineralization to over 800 meters.

Further mapping and sampling are planned to verify this interpretation, while earthworks and drilling preparations are also progressing.

Kaoko Metals Managing Director Gerard O'Donovan said that discovering a new zone of copper mineralization outcrop so early in the first field work program is an exciting development for Kaoko. It further confirms the significant exploration potential of the company's large tenement package, particularly in the area between the high-grade Donkey Hill and Otniel prospects, which are 2.2 kilometers apart.

Laboratory analysis results are expected within six to eight weeks, depending on laboratory turnaround time. Once available, the results will be used to further refine and prioritize targets, and will be incorporated into the design, hole positioning, and sequencing of the company's upcoming first drilling program at Chalkos.
