China Becomes Official Partner of Astana AI Film Festival

The event brought together leading technology companies, film production institutions, universities, research centers, investors, AI developers, and representatives from the film industry of both countries.
During the forum, the Astana AI Film Festival Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation with Beijing Zhongguancun Tongli Technology Service Co., Ltd., marking one of the key outcomes of the event. Under the agreement, both parties will promote joint projects in areas such as AI films, AIGC technology, sci-fi content, investment, and international distribution. Chinese enterprises will become the official partners of the Astana AI Film Festival in China.
Almas Zhali, co-founder and chairman of the board of the Astana AI Film Festival, stated:
"China is one of the key partners in the global development of the AI film ecosystem. It is home to some of the world's most powerful technology companies, outstanding creators, and one of the largest digital content markets. The signing of this memorandum will open a new phase of systematic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the creative industries."
At the promotion conference, the organizers introduced the international vision of the Astana AI Film Festival. The festival will be held from October 1 to 3 in Astana, as part of the Astana AI Week framework.
Aizatulla Hussain, co-founder and creative director of the Astana AI Film Festival, stated:
"AI is transforming the language of cinema and truly globalizing creation. Today, talented creators can produce films of international quality from anywhere in the world. Therefore, the Astana AI Film Festival is designed as an open international platform that values the power of ideas, the quality of stories, and the level of execution, rather than the origin of the project. We believe that cooperation with China will open new opportunities for creators from both countries."
At the subsequent Kazakhstan-China AI Film and Television Innovation Exchange Forum, representatives from film production institutions, technology companies, and research centers discussed topics including the application of AI in film creation, the development of AI content, the transformation of creative processes, international cooperation mechanisms, and the entry of joint projects into global markets.
Heads and representatives from PixVerse AI, the AI Research Institute of China Film Group, Bauhinia Films (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., the Zhongguancun Sci-Fi Industry Innovation Center, and other leading enterprises in China's AIGC sector participated in the relevant discussions.
After the forum, all parties confirmed their commitment to promoting long-term cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the fields of AI, the film industry, and digital creative technologies.
The Astana AI Film Festival will be held in Astana in the fall of 2026 and is expected to become one of the largest international events in the field of AI cinema. The festival will feature an international competition with a total prize fund of $1 million, conferences, project pitches, and a series of exchange activities involving leading global experts in AI, film, and digital creativity.
