en.Wedoany.com Reported - Aker BP has completed the transport of the Hugin B topsides from the Aker Solutions Verdal yard to the Yggdrasil project in the Norwegian North Sea, marking the final topsides departure from the yard's three-and-a-half-year construction program.

The shipment on July 6 concludes the Verdal yard's work on building four steel jackets and two topsides for the Valhall PWP-Fenris and Yggdrasil projects. The delivery sequence began with the Fenris jacket and pre-drilling module in June 2024, followed by the Valhall PWP jacket and Hugin A jacket in 2025, after which the Hugin B jacket and Fenris topsides left the yard in April this year.
Hugin B is part of the Yggdrasil project, operated by Aker BP with partners Equinor and Orlen Upstream Norway, covering the Hugin, Fulla, and Munin license groups, including platforms, subsea facilities, export pipelines, and shore power supply. Yggdrasil will be remotely operated from an integrated operations center and control room in Stavanger. The Frøy field is being developed via Hugin B, a normally unmanned wellhead platform tied back to Hugin A.
Since 2022, the Verdal yard's project portfolio has created nearly 3,500 person-years of work and involved over 130 apprentices. The yard has delivered more than 42,000 tonnes of cargo for these projects.
Aker Solutions' scope of work in the Yggdrasil project includes EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) and offshore hook-up for the Hugin A platform and its jacket, as well as the 2,100-tonne Hugin B normally unmanned wellhead platform and its jacket foundation.
The Yggdrasil project is scheduled to start production in 2027. Aker BP estimates total resources at approximately 700 million barrels of oil equivalent.
