en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian telematics company Geotab and Toyota Connected have announced a global commercial alliance, aiming to develop next-generation fleet management solutions by integrating connected vehicle technology, telematics, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. The initial phase of the partnership will focus on specific regions and use cases, with solutions being rolled out in stages.

The alliance aims to address industry challenges, including labor shortages and evolving operational demands in markets such as Japan, where an aging population has exacerbated driver shortages. By integrating vehicle data through an approved connectivity architecture, the alliance seeks to provide fleets with enhanced insights and operational capabilities.

"This alliance enables Geotab to work closely with Toyota Connected, combining their connectivity technology and platform with Geotab's own technology and partner ecosystem," said Sherry Calkins, Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Accounts at Geotab. Initial offerings include telematics devices, white-label software services, API and data access integration. Long-term plans involve developing more deeply integrated fleet management solutions. Key features encompass vehicle data access via API integration through the Toyota Connected connectivity platform (subject to regional availability), as well as integration of authorized third-party tracking devices using the Geotab Data Access Gateway. The alliance will also offer white-label versions of the Geotab platform and GO devices customized for Toyota Connected customers, enabling them to access both Geotab's data ecosystem and Toyota Connected's connectivity and fleet service capabilities.
