Wedoany.com Report-Nov 2, GRU’s controversial biomass power generating plant will remain shut down due to mechanical damage.
The agenda for next week’s GRU Authority Board meeting says the damage to a “Blade wheel” in the turbine was found while the biomass plant was shut down for a ten year inspection.
The damage put “The plant at risk of catastrophic failure.”
The part was sent to the manufacturer for repairs, which are expected to take up to three months and cost more than a million dollars.
