Serbia's Mundoro Completes 1,288.1-Meter Drilling at Central Timok Project
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mundoro announced the completion of a diamond drilling program totaling 1,288.1 meters at the Skorusa East target within the Central Timok Project in Serbia. The drilling is part of the 2026 exploration program, conducted under a cooperation agreement with BHP, which fully funds the exploration activities. The work included two drill holes, downhole geophysical studies, and geological data collection, which will help identify the next exploration targets.

The program comprised two drill holes, 26-SKO-08 and 26-SKO-09, reaching depths of 499.8 meters and 788.3 meters, respectively. Both holes identified geological alteration sequences typical of the margins of a copper-gold porphyry system. The results indicate that the core of the system has not yet been drilled, and the company will continue to direct work toward this area. Laboratory test results are expected to be released by the end of July 2026.
Mundoro CEO, President, and Director Teo Dechev stated that the completion of the initial drilling program at Skorusa East marks steady progress in the 2026 exploration program with BHP. The collected data aligns with the geological model, providing a clear path for subsequent drilling at the Central Timok Project. The company's Exploration Director, Humberto Brockway, noted that the information obtained will help direct subsequent work toward the most mineral-potential areas. He explained that the alteration profiles observed in the drill holes confirm that the outer and western margins of a porphyry system are being explored, and the transition from advanced argillic alteration to phyllic and propylitic zones provides a continuous vector, indicating that the system's core has not yet been explored.
The company stated that drill hole 26-SKO-08 intersected an alteration sequence evolving from an advanced argillic zone to phyllic and propylitic alteration, while drill hole 26-SKO-09 identified an extensive advanced argillic alteration zone extending to a depth of 430 meters, followed by phyllic and propylitic zones. These features help define the interpreted western margin of the porphyry system. Mundoro believes that the combination of new drilling data, magnetic anomalies, and geochemical results strengthens the interpretation of a copper-gold system with an unexplored core. Based on this information, the company will continue new drilling targeting the inferred system center to assess its mineral potential.
