ABB Deploys Flowmeters for 450,000-Ton Adipic Acid Project in China

en.Wedoany.com Reported - ABB will deploy ProcessMaster series flowmeters in the chemical production facility within this complex, which has an annual capacity of 450,000 tons of adipic acid. Adipic acid is a key raw material for producing nylon 66, specialty engineering plastics, and polyurethane.

The facility will leverage Ethernet-APL instruments to achieve high-speed real-time data transmission, thereby supporting efficient and reliable plant operations.

The deployed flowmeters will monitor the flow of high-temperature, corrosive acidic fluids within the plant, covering pipe diameters ranging from DN 15 mm to DN 300 mm. The equipment provides both power and high-speed Ethernet-APL communication via a single two-core cable, enabling the highest safety protection level (Ex ia) and ensuring data transmission reliability over distances of up to 1000 meters. ABB has adopted PFA lining technology in the flowmeters to protect the equipment from corrosion and ensure measurement accuracy and equipment service life.

This order builds on ABB's previous delivery of Ethernet-APL VortexMaster and SwirlMaster flowmeters to Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co., Ltd. and Rongsheng Petrochemical, both subsidiaries of the Fortune Global 500 company Rongsheng Group.

The FEP600 series electromagnetic flowmeters have been widely used in the global petrochemical and chemical industries.
