en.Wedoany.com Reported - Mimosa Networks, a provider of fixed wireless access solutions, and Viaero Wireless, a regional operator, jointly announced the completion of a commercial deployment based on unlicensed spectrum in rural and regional markets across the United States, demonstrating carrier-grade, high-capacity broadband transmission capabilities.

The deployment utilizes Mimosa's A6 access point and the 6 Series platform. Under a link distance of 9.8 miles, each A6 sector can support approximately 50 active users while delivering stable network performance. The A6 access point and C6x/C6 client devices run the latest TDMA firmware and support Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC), enabling operation in mixed line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight environments. The equipment supports operation in the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, combining Mimosa's proprietary TDMA technology, Automatic Channel Selection (ACS), active beamforming, and full AFC capabilities.
Venkat Potluri, Vice President of Fixed Wireless at Viaero Wireless, stated that the evaluation framework for this deployment was used to test the performance of Mimosa's 6 Series platform under real-world operating conditions. The deployment demonstrates that fixed wireless operators can maintain network performance while scaling user density across various terrains, distances, and interference environments.
Sustaining higher user density while maintaining consistent latency and quality of service remains a major industry challenge. Through close collaboration, Mimosa and Viaero introduced TDMA and network optimization enhancements that improved network stability, efficiency, and overall user experience. Potluri noted that scaling fixed wireless is not just about adding users, but also about maintaining performance during growth and balancing the active and passive elements of infrastructure to achieve goals within an affordable cost structure.
As part of Radisys (a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Jio Platforms), Mimosa's technology supports one of the world's largest unlicensed fixed wireless networks, connecting millions of homes and businesses. Jim Nevelle, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mimosa Networks, stated that the collaboration with Viaero demonstrates how scalable fixed wireless can provide operators with the capacity, efficiency, and reliability needed to expand broadband networks sustainably. A detailed technical summary of the deployment has been published in the accompanying case study.
Mimosa Networks, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Jio Platforms, focuses on next-generation fixed wireless broadband solutions designed to deliver fiber-like speeds at a fraction of the cost of fiber. Its carrier-grade radios are used by service providers worldwide to connect communities, businesses, and homes.
Viaero Wireless is a regional wireless provider serving Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and Wyoming. Established over 35 years ago, it focuses on providing reliable connectivity to rural areas of the United States.
