en.Wedoany.com Reported - Swiss compression equipment manufacturer Burckhardt Compression has secured an order from Norwegian green hydrogen company HYDS to provide a complete high-pressure hydrogen compression solution for a Nordic hydrogen station with a total capacity of up to 40 megawatts.

Once the project is operational, HYDS stations across the Nordic region will be equipped with Burckhardt Compression units, specifically for hydrogen trailer filling, with equipment capable of withstanding pressures up to 515 bar. Burckhardt stated that this compressor offers flexible adaptability, supporting the continued expansion of Nordic hydrogen infrastructure. Andreas Bräuchi, President of the Systems Division at Burckhardt, noted that hydrogen storage and transportation are key foundations for the healthy development of the hydrogen industry ecosystem.
The green hydrogen produced at HYDS' Nordic bases will drive low-carbon transformation across local industries, maritime shipping, transportation, and other sectors. In November 2025, HYDS completed final investment approvals for two Norwegian green hydrogen projects, located in Florø and Egersund, each with an installed capacity of 20 megawatts. In January this year, HYDS announced new plans to build a 10-megawatt green hydrogen plant in Gothenburg, Sweden, with first hydrogen production targeted for 2029.
Burckhardt will commence compressor supply work only after the two parties formally sign a complete cooperation agreement.
