en.Wedoany.com Reported - Viva Aerobus has financed the delivery of an Airbus A321neo for the first time using a Japanese Operating Lease with Purchase Option (JOLCO) structure, with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) acting as the arranger and sole lender for the transaction.

Japanese financial firm Three i's Capital Co., Ltd participated as an equity investor in this transaction, marking its first foray into aircraft leasing-related business.

Ciprian Rodriguez, Fleet Director of Viva Aerobus, stated that this transaction broadens the range of financial solutions supporting its fleet growth, while strengthening the partnership with MUFG, helping the ultra-low-cost carrier continue executing its long-term fleet strategy.

Aqmar Chowdhury, Deputy Head of Aviation Finance Origination at MUFG Americas, emphasized that this transaction demonstrates the institution's ability to provide innovative solutions, leveraging its expertise in the aviation sector and strong relationships maintained in Japan.

According to data from aviation website Planespotters, Viva Aerobus currently operates 37 A321 aircraft, with 11 parked, while also having 42 A320s in service and 17 grounded.
