en.Wedoany.com Reported - UK bridge manufacturer Beaver Bridges has launched a modular spanning bridge system designed for culverts and small waterways, which can be installed within one working day without entering the watercourse.

Culverts are common shallow channels in rural areas used for water supply and drainage, and their presence often leads to project delays and affects planning permission approvals. The new system is specifically designed for SV80 vehicles, which comply with the Special Types General Order (STGO) regulations, with a gross vehicle weight of up to 80 tonnes and an axle load of up to 12.5 tonnes. The foundation uses Readyscrew helical piles, which can be installed to depths of up to 20 metres without disturbing the riverbed. The entire bridge is galvanized, with a design life of 50 years and the ability to withstand temporary flooding.
The system is delivered as a fully integrated turnkey solution, with Beaver Bridges' in-house expert team responsible for all design, manufacturing, and installation, assuming full design liability. This single-source delivery model aims to reduce project risk, simplify the delivery process, and provide clients with end-to-end accountability from concept to completion. The bridge is stocked in the UK and available for immediate deployment, enabling contractors to quickly establish temporary access. By eliminating the need for in-channel work and reducing installation time, the system is designed to provide a safer, lower-risk, and more environmentally friendly solution for crossing culverts and small waterways.

Richard Hinckley, Business Director at Beaver Bridges, expressed anticipation for the market launch of this innovative product. He noted that the modular spanning culvert design allows a specialist team to complete all installation from ground level to bridge deck from the bank within one working day, without entering the watercourse. This approach achieves faster, lower-risk installation while minimizing environmental impact, helping projects stay on schedule and providing a safe, sustainable crossing solution for culverts.
