This shipment supports the ongoing development of the nuclear facility, which is being built by Rosatom using a build-own-operate model.
The Akkuyu NPP will feature four Russian-designed VVER-1200 reactors. Construction milestones include the first concrete pouring for unit 1 in April 2018, unit 2 in June 2020, unit 3 in March 2021, and unit 4 in July 2022. Unit 1 is on track to begin operations in 2025. As of July 2024, approximately 70% of the equipment and systems installed at unit 1 had completed commissioning, marking significant progress.
ZEO Energotok is advancing an import substitution initiative to produce sealed valves for nuclear power plants. The company aims to expand its manufacturing capabilities by establishing a new production site, which will enhance its product range and support the growing needs of the nuclear energy sector.
The equipment supplied by ZEO Energotok is critical for the safe and efficient operation of the Akkuyu NPP, contributing to the project’s goal of delivering reliable nuclear energy. Rosatom’s involvement ensures the integration of advanced technology and expertise in the construction and operation of the reactors.
This collaboration highlights the ongoing efforts to strengthen the nuclear energy infrastructure in Türkiye, with ZEO Energotok playing a key role in providing essential components. The company’s expansion plans and focus on local production are expected to further support the nuclear industry’s development.
