en.Wedoany.com Reported - The first phase of Malaysia's Selangor state "Our Selangor Rail Line" is expected to commence as early as next year. The Selangor state government and the federal government are in the final stages of negotiations to finalize the details of the plan and push for the project's official implementation.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari stated that the state government has decided to prioritize the first-phase route in the southern region of Selangor, primarily due to the more urgent demand for public transport services in that area. He believes that with the cooperation of the federal government, one of the routes can be initiated next year.
Amirudin made these remarks to the media after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus of Kuen Cheng High School Second Branch in Bandar Seri Coalfields, Rawang. He noted that this rail project is not only a key undertaking for Selangor's urban rail transit development but will also serve as an important blueprint for future long-term railway network planning. As railway construction involves substantial funding, which ultimately must be borne by the government, continuous coordination with the federal government is necessary to gradually extend the railway network from southern Selangor to the north.
Regarding route planning, he revealed that the overall routes have been largely determined. As the project progresses, the state government will continuously review and optimize the route design based on actual needs. To date, most of the planned routes involve government land, which is expected to minimize significant land acquisition obstacles and facilitate the smooth implementation of the project.
