en.Wedoany.com Reported - Western Star Resources (CSE:WSR) has successfully identified a new area of interest through a high-resolution UAV magnetic geophysical survey at the White Star Tungsten Project. Located in northern Elko County, Nevada, USA, this project historically produced over 1,000 tons of ore with a grade of up to 3.38% tungsten oxide.
Based on the survey data, the company has delineated four targets requiring further follow-up: the central kqm-pzt contact zone, the northern pzt body, the southern limestone corridor, and a historical open-pit area. The central target is located immediately north of the Batholith mine, while the northern target has been identified as a mapped pzt tactite window within the northern kqm intrusive body, intersected by a northwest-trending magnetic anomaly line. The southern target consists of multiple small pzl limestone bodies in the southeast with discrete magnetic anomaly features, similar to those observed at the Batholith mine; the historical open-pit area exhibits coherent magnetic characteristics, suggesting that the kqm-pzt-pzl contact geology may extend beneath the cover.
CEO Blake Morgan noted that this geophysical survey provides the second component of the merged Jarbidge-Charleston dataset and completes mine-scale magnetic coverage, which was the anticipated goal of the claim consolidation. He stated that the intrusions identified in the high-resolution magnetic data bring a significant new area of interest, and the contact zones between granite and surrounding carbonate rocks may create favorable conditions for tungsten skarn mineralization. Morgan also revealed that the company looks forward to integrating these results with ongoing rock chip and soil geochemical programs, and exploration work at the White Star Project continues to advance.
This survey aimed to obtain a high-resolution magnetic dataset of known historical mining areas to identify additional potential targets and enhance the company's understanding of structural controls on mineralization. The relevant results will be integrated with rock chip and soil geochemical data collected across the entire White Star claim package. Currently, the integrated dataset is undergoing geophysical inversion, and results will be released upon completion. Western Star Resources is an emerging junior mineral exploration company dedicated to revitalizing North America's tungsten supply.
