en.Wedoany.com Reported - The rotor threading operation for the generator of Unit 2 at the PowerChina Feicheng 2×300MW (Phase I) Salt Cavern Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Station Project, constructed by Shandong Electric Power Construction No.1 Company, was completed in 2 hours, achieving "zero collisions, zero deviations, and success on the first attempt."

To ensure the smooth execution of the threading operation, the project team assembled a core technical group and developed a specialized construction plan. During the process, the team laid protective fixtures and dedicated sliding plates inside the stator bore, applied lubricant, and precisely secured them, effectively mitigating the risk of equipment collision and slippage. Throughout the operation, construction personnel strictly adhered to process requirements, maintaining the rotor in a horizontal position at all times, coordinating the operating rhythm of the crane and traction equipment, and dynamically adjusting the rotor coaxiality and installation clearance. The entire process—lifting, positioning, threading, alignment, and seating—was completed in a standardized manner. This successful threading has created conditions for subsequent equipment fine-tuning, system joint commissioning, and grid-connected operation of the unit.

Located in Feicheng City, Tai'an City, Shandong Province, this project is a key national energy strategy initiative and a demonstration project with the largest single-well diameter and highest operating pressure in the current industry. The project involves the construction of two 300MW non-supplementary-fired advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage units. Once completed and operational, the annual power generation is expected to reach 1.188 billion kWh, meeting the electricity needs of approximately 600,000 households. It is projected to save about 310,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 600,000 tons annually. This project will provide support and serve as a demonstration for the large-scale application of new energy storage technologies in China, contributing to the implementation of the national energy strategy and promoting regional green, low-carbon, and high-quality development.
