en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 14, the concrete structure of the GIS building for the Miri Gas-Fired Power Plant project in Malaysia was topped out, achieving the scheduled construction milestone. The GIS building serves as the power hub and grid interface of the plant, from which reverse power transmission will be initiated, running through the core of commissioning and operation, and is critical to the overall construction progress of the plant.

The GIS building has overall dimensions of 49 meters by 32 meters by 22 meters, with two floors and a maximum single-floor height of 14.45 meters. The main structure adopts a combination of a concrete frame structure and a steel structure roof. During construction, the super-high structure on the second floor posed high requirements for scaffolding erection, formwork support, and high-altitude operations. Through scientific coordination, the project team strictly implemented safety technical briefings and quality control measures, strengthened the full-process control of key procedures, and ensured safe and orderly construction progress, ultimately achieving the smooth topping out of the GIS building main structure.

As a hub facility for power transmission of the plant, the GIS building carries the full-process power distribution and control functions from reverse power transmission to equipment commissioning and formal operation. Its successful topping out has laid the spatial foundation for subsequent electrical equipment installation and system joint commissioning. During construction, the project team overcame multiple difficulties such as limited site space and rainy season construction, optimizing construction organization design and rationally allocating resources to ensure the project progressed as planned.

In the next step, the project team will follow the overall construction plan to orderly advance subsequent works such as building masonry, steel structure roof, interior and exterior decoration, and equipment foundations, creating favorable conditions for the installation and system commissioning of the GIS building equipment.
