en.Wedoany.com Reported - Huawei Digital Power unveiled its next-generation FusionSolar 9.0 smart photovoltaic solution for the Middle East and Central Asia at the FusionSolar Technology Innovation Summit held in Dubai.

Held on July 15, the summit focused on grid stability challenges in the region's rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, technology experts, utilities, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies, developers, consultants, and partners from the Middle East and Central Asia (ME&CA) to discuss technologies shaping next-generation solar power and the evolving needs of renewable-powered grids.

In his opening remarks, Alex Xing, President of Huawei Digital Power for the Middle East and Central Asia, noted that the region's renewable energy industry is entering a new phase, shifting focus from capacity expansion to smarter, more resilient power systems capable of maintaining grid stability. He stated that the Middle East and Central Asia are entering a new stage of renewable energy development, where reliability, grid stability, and intelligent digital technologies are becoming as important as efficiency, and that Huawei is committed to continuous innovation and collaboration with customers and partners to build resilient, intelligent, and sustainable energy systems.

During a session discussing future trends and challenges, Aleksi Lumijärvi from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) shared insights on renewable energy development trends in the Middle East, emphasizing the growing role of 24/7 renewable energy systems and dispatchable clean power in supporting future electricity demand. Dr. Abdulla Ismail, representing RIT Dubai, discussed the UAE's renewable energy strategy and the challenges of large-scale generation integration. Nofel Dakhel from the SJ Group presented Oman's renewable energy roadmap, showcasing the country's ambition to accelerate clean energy deployment.

The regional launch of FusionSolar 9.0 was the main focus of the summit. Zhang Xingzhong from Huawei introduced the solution, which was developed to address the evolving needs of utility-scale solar projects. It integrates next-generation string inverter technology, enhanced grid-forming capabilities, intelligent digital management, and improved reliability, aiming to help developers build more stable, efficient, and intelligent power systems.

The summit also featured real-world case studies. Saleh El Haj Youssef from PowerChina HDEC shared design insights on string inverter applications and highlighted the value realized in the ADQ project. Antonio Diaz, representing the EDF team, shared experiences from the UAE PV3 project, demonstrating how Huawei's string inverter architecture improves plant performance, simplifies system design, and optimizes long-term lifecycle value.

Technical sessions focused on maintaining power system stability. Dr. Carlos Alvarez from Huawei presented the latest advancements in grid-forming (GFM) technology, including simulation studies conducted in Saudi Arabia, validation tests in Germany, and the latest independent technical assessments.

The summit concluded with the release of third-party advisory reports. Nikola Djeric, Deputy Director of Go2Power, conducted an independent assessment of the grid-forming capabilities of Huawei's string inverter solutions. Pranav Patel, Head of Solar Technology and Analysis for Southern Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America (SEMELA) at DNV, shared an evaluation of the long-term performance and reliability of Huawei's string inverters. Both organizations released independent technical reports validating Huawei's grid-forming capabilities and the long-term performance of its technology.

Huawei Digital Power stated that combining intelligent digital technologies with smart PV and grid-forming innovations helps develop more resilient, efficient, and low-carbon energy infrastructure, and that its technology is designed to help countries in the region accelerate their energy transition and achieve long-term sustainable development goals.
