en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the pre-concentration waste rejection revamp project at the beneficiation plant of Sinomine Bikita Minerals (Private) Limited officially commenced at the Bikita mine site in Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe. By introducing advanced technologies such as XRT intelligent optical sorting, the project upgrades the existing spodumene flotation system for intelligence and green development, marking new progress for the company in lean operations and efficient resource utilization.

Gong Xuedong, Assistant President of Sinomine Resource Group and General Manager of Bikita Minerals, stated that in the face of intensifying global competition in lithium resource markets and rising cost control pressures, the company adheres to the development philosophy of "resource-based, technology-driven." This pre-concentration waste rejection revamp project aims to enhance core competitiveness and achieve cascade utilization of resources, opening new pathways for the refined development of mine resources.

The project supports the mine's existing spodumene flotation system with an annual processing capacity of 2 million tons, employing a combined process of "heavy media separation + XRT intelligent sorting." Before ore enters the grinding and flotation stages, this process can accurately identify and separate waste rock and lean ore impurities. Once operational, the project can pre-reject approximately 60% of lean ore and interburden, enriching the average lithium oxide grade of the mill feed from 1.07% to over 2%. This significantly reduces ineffective grinding and flotation operations, lowering production energy consumption and operational costs. Ultimately, the mine's overall annual ore processing capacity will increase to 3.3 million tons, achieving multiple goals of quality improvement, cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, and green development.
