These are the largest Monel tube bundle heat exchangers in China, and the successful lifting marks the completion of all major equipment installation for the project.
Each solution heater weighs 112.7 tons, with an inner diameter of 1.8 meters and a height of 11 meters. They are primarily used to heat hydrocarbon polymers, enabling efficient heating of polyolefins. As key equipment in the core process of the Nantong Blue Ocean New Materials FDPE plant, the installation quality plays a crucial role in ensuring the subsequent commissioning and stable operation of the plant.
This lifting operation was the final critical milestone for the installation of major large-scale equipment in the FDPE plant, facing challenges such as the heavy weight of the equipment, high installation position, and limited working space inside the reaction frame. Due to site space constraints, the crane could not complete the entire lifting operation in one go. It required adjusting the crane's position and counterweights based on the equipment's posture and site conditions, optimizing the lifting path and equipment rotation angle, which placed extremely high demands on lifting organization, technical solutions, and on-site coordination.
Facing the complex construction environment, the project team repeatedly simulated and optimized key aspects such as the lifting process, crane selection, counterweight adjustment, equipment lifting points, and lifting path. During the lifting process, management personnel supervised and directed throughout, strictly implemented safety technical briefings, strengthened risk control across the entire process, and ensured close cooperation and coordinated efforts among various disciplines, ultimately achieving the successful one-time lifting and precise installation of the two solution heaters.
