The world's largest sporting event concluded on July 19, with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0 to claim the title. Both finalist teams played at AT&T Stadium in the Dallas metropolitan area, one of the venues equipped with Janta solar towers.
Janta Power founder and CEO Mohammed Njie stated that the World Cup has evolved into an energy-intensive system, and this electricity demand makes the event a testing ground for energy infrastructure. Njie noted that by providing clean, quiet power over several days, the company demonstrated that renewable energy can be rapidly deployed where it is most needed, without sacrificing speed, reliability, or performance. Whether powering global events, AI data centers, airports, or communities, its mission is to deliver clean, affordable, and reliable energy quickly at the point of demand.
Janta stated that its key application occurred at the official FIFA Fan Festivals. FIFA required the company to install solar towers in Dallas and Houston, showcasing a new energy deployment model that simplifies procurement logistics and accommodates compressed operational timelines. The installation at Fair Park in Dallas included four JP5K solar towers equipped with 28 kWh battery systems, serving as temporary power sources throughout the festival, generating up to 275 kWh of electricity daily for event infrastructure, and being removable.
Janta Power's installation in the Houston area is a longer-term fixed facility in Southeast Texas. The tower and its battery system, located in East Downtown Houston, have been retained as a permanent installation, purchased locally to power public facilities and community events for a period of 25 years.
The Janta tower design generates up to 50% more electricity than traditional flat-panel systems while occupying only one-third of the land area due to its vertical structure. The vertical design and integrated tracking system capture sunlight throughout the day and produce a dual-peak power curve during high-demand periods.
Skye Fabrizio, Sustainability Manager at event management company C3 Presents, stated that reliable power is a continuous logistical consideration in festivals and large events, and solutions that simplify deployment can have a real operational impact. Janta's towers are quick to install, require minimal space, and deliver quiet, reliable power directly on-site. Having seen the technology in action, he believes it holds significant potential for broader events and temporary installations.
Company representatives stated that Janta's installations for the World Cup celebrations build on a growing base of commercial applications, with pilot projects already underway at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Munich International Airport in Germany.
