A vessel loaded with 4,000 tons of Dongting Lake sand has successfully arrived at Zhengyang Port in Xinghua, Jiangsu. This dedicated route adopts an integrated supply model of "material source + direct Yangtze River single-line delivery to the construction site," ensuring the supply of sand and gravel materials for the Yancheng-Yixing and Yixing-Changzhou high-speed railway projects.

Sand and gravel are core basic raw materials for railway infrastructure projects. Currently, construction of projects such as the Yancheng-Yixing and Yixing-Changzhou lines is accelerating, leading to continuously growing demand for sand and gravel. Traditional water transport faces issues such as loose management, insufficient scheduling capacity, and weak response to navigation risks, making it difficult to meet large-volume, uninterrupted material demands. To address this, the East China Regional Company developed a dedicated Yangtze River water transport plan for the Materials Trading Company of China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau, establishing an integrated direct supply system from the Dongdi Guai mining area in Yiyang to the Yancheng-Yixing and Yixing-Changzhou projects.

The East China Regional Company arranges for fleet full-journey transportation, ensuring controllable capacity scheduling and navigation management throughout the process. It proactively anticipates risks such as flood seasons, strong winds, and channel restrictions, implementing detour and staggered scheduling plans to guarantee uninterrupted supply from the source. The Materials Trading Company of China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau leverages its advantages in material sourcing, construction material management, and engineering distribution, enhancing material supply assurance levels while maintaining transportation costs unchanged, forging a new path of efficient and economical supply assurance.

In early 2026, the two parties, based on their strategic cooperation framework, began to layout overseas cross-border logistics and completed the cross-border transportation of two batches of engineering materials for the Barbados Water Plant.
