Russia's Severstal Supplies Over 8,000 Tons of Metal Products for Lena River Bridge

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Russia's Severstal has supplied over 8,000 tons of metal products for the construction of the Lensky Bridge in the Yakutia region of Russia. Located near Yakutsk and spanning the Lena River, the bridge will connect the federal highways "Vilyuy" with "Lena" and "Kolyma" upon completion.

The supply list mainly includes: rebar conforming to GOST 5781 standards, used to enhance the stability of bridge piers, assembled into bored piles and pile cap frameworks; as well as profiles and plates for assembling floating cofferdams and other metal structural components. All metal structures designed for operation at temperatures as low as –60°C are supplied using low-temperature-resistant steel grades with specified impact toughness.

Additionally, Severstal supplied over 800 tons of Grani Pro multi-sided sheet piles for bridge pier foundation pits. This product is a patented solution for geologically complex projects, including those in the Arctic region, and can reduce project metal consumption by up to 38%. Experts from Severstal Engineering developed a special profile for the corners of sheet pile walls, which helps precisely follow the design geometry and simplifies the installation of enclosure structure joints.

The Lensky Bridge is a unique federal-level infrastructure project. Construction began in October 2024. The project plans a total road length of 18.3 km, with the bridge itself spanning 3.1 km and approach roads extending 10.9 km. At 2025 prices, the project cost is 174.8 billion rubles.
