en.Wedoany.com Reported - Qidong COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has completed commissioning and delivered the fourth NG20000-type wind power installation vessel, "Wind Ace," built for Danish company Cadeler.

As the latest member of the NG20000 series, "Wind Ace" features a deck area of over 5,600 square meters and a payload capacity of 17,600 tons. Its main crane has a lifting capacity exceeding 3,300 tons, enabling the installation of ultra-large wind turbines of 20 megawatts and above. Its four 120-meter legs support stable operations at water depths of up to 70 meters, covering most offshore wind farms worldwide.

The vessel is equipped with a 5,000 kW battery energy storage hybrid power system and is pre-fitted with methanol fuel interfaces, reducing thousands of tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Over 10,000 signal collection points are deployed across the ship, enabling "one-click operation and full-ship coordination." The vessel adopts a hybrid design, allowing it to switch between a foundation installation vessel and a wind turbine installation vessel. A single load can transport and install seven sets of 15 MW turbine units or six XL monopiles.

From the first vessel "Wind Peak" and "Wind Glory," to "Wind Chang" delivered 43 days ahead of schedule and selected for the 2025 "World's Famous Ships" list, and now "Wind Ace" with a 5% reduction in construction man-hours and a 19-day shorter cycle, the series continues to iterate. To date, Qidong COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has secured orders for 18 high-end wind power installation vessels.
