The initiative, a collaboration between EE, Ontix, and Westminster City Council, underscores a commitment to advancing digital infrastructure in the capital. Westminster, hosting over 50,000 businesses and attracting more than 25 million tourists annually, will benefit from improved network capacity to meet the demands of its dense urban environment. The project focuses on delivering high-quality connectivity to support the area’s economic and cultural significance.

The small cells are tailored for lamppost installation, prioritizing safety and weight considerations while providing targeted coverage in high-traffic zones. This strategic approach boosts network capacity in busy areas and addresses the challenges of Westminster’s complex urban landscape. The equipment is designed to blend seamlessly with existing street furniture, painted to match its surroundings, minimizing visual impact while maintaining functionality.
