This partnership further solidifies SES's position as a leading multi-orbit broadband service provider in the Americas and globally.
Over the next few years, more than 60 Airbus A320NEO and A321XLR aircraft, as well as Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, will be equipped with SES services. LATAM will become the largest airline in the region to use SES's new Electronically Steerable Array (ESA) antenna, which stands less than 7 centimeters tall and provides reliable connectivity to SES's multi-orbit network. By connecting satellites across different orbits, the service ensures that aircraft receive consistent, reliable coverage no matter where they are.
SES and LATAM have partnered for nearly a decade, with SES previously providing 2Ku services to more than 200 of LATAM's A320 family aircraft. To date, LATAM operates the largest SES-connected fleet in the region, with over 250 aircraft equipped with Wi-Fi.
