Fraunhofer ISE and Indian University Sign Floating PV Research Agreement

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) and Himachal Pradesh University in India have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in the field of renewable energy research. Floating photovoltaic systems and agrivoltaics are among the main research topics of this cooperation in India.

The collaboration includes joint supervision of master's and doctoral students as well as academic exchanges. The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems lists unclear approval procedures, public concerns, installation economics, long-term performance, and environmental impact factors as issues to be studied.

The memorandum builds on the Early Career Research Fellowship previously completed by Alexander Graef and Manish Kumar. The Indo-German Science and Technology Center supported this fellowship, whose program includes research visits in Germany and India. In 2025, Kumar spent several weeks working at various German research institutions through this program; in spring 2026, Graef conducted five weeks of research at multiple Indian institutions, with a focus on Himachal Pradesh University.
