en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sun Peak Metals (TSX-V:PEAK) has completed its first drilling program across two projects in Saudi Arabia, with assay results expected in late August.
The drilling was conducted within a 1,072-square-kilometer mineral rights package in the Arabian-Nubian Shield, with a total of 23 drill holes completed at the Safra Main and Halahila Main targets, totaling 3,764 meters. Both projects intersected sulfide mineralization in structures within volcanic-hosted massive sulfide (VMS) volcanic and sedimentary rock sequences. In the first half of 2026, the company submitted 961 drill core samples to laboratories for analysis.
The Halahila Main project comprised 13 diamond drill holes totaling approximately 2,521 meters, designed to test a mineralized gossan extending over 650 meters along strike and up to 30 meters wide. Previous surface sampling at this target returned peak grades of 16.35 grams per ton gold (Au) and 180 grams per ton silver (Ag).
The Safra Main project included 10 diamond drill holes totaling approximately 1,242 meters. Previous surface sampling at this target returned peak grades of 3.34 g/t Au, 6.72% copper (Cu), 864 g/t Ag, 19.05% zinc (Zn), and 9.89% lead (Pb); trench sampling returned 22.5 meters @ 0.90 g/t Au, 35.6 g/t Ag, 0.20% Cu, 1.83% Pb, and 1.21% Zn.
The Al Miyah project has completed 1,345 line-kilometers of fixed-wing time-domain airborne electromagnetic surveying, along with gravity surveys at the Hishashat and Al Miyah Main targets, with drilling scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. At the recently acquired Jabal Al Asad project, exploration identified a large VMS-type gossan extending approximately 1.5 kilometers along a northeast-southwest trend; the company has completed detailed geological mapping, collected 89 rock and soil samples, and completed gravity surveys at 637 stations.
Sun Peak Metals currently holds 13 exploration licenses in Saudi Arabia covering a total area of 1,072 square kilometers, distributed along known VMS and gold trends; an additional two license applications covering approximately 200 square kilometers are pending approval. The company is an exploration enterprise with assets located in the Arabian-Nubian Shield.
Chief Executive Officer Greg Davis stated that the completion of the first drilling at Safra Main and Halahila Main lays the foundation for subsequent evaluation, and the company looks forward to receiving the initial assay results in late August while continuing to advance its broader portfolio of high-priority targets. He said the company is advancing multiple projects through a rigorous discovery process, steadily building its exploration platform in Saudi Arabia.
