en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Spanish Council of Ministers approved this week the launch of the tender for the closure and commissioning works of the Ribera Dock (muelle de Ribera) at the Port of Granadilla (puerto de Granadilla), with a project amount of €53.9 million. The estimated value of this tender has been revised upward compared to the previous one, which was declared void on April 27 due to a lack of bids.

The works approved this time will focus on completing the unfinished section of the Ribera Dock, with a total length of approximately 543.3 meters. Upon project completion, the overall length of the Ribera Dock will reach 1,045 meters, and the dock facilities will also be brought into operation. The section to be built lies between the second segment of the multipurpose dock and the southern end concession area. The works will involve the installation of 11 reinforced concrete caissons, each measuring 48.25 meters in length, with a base elevation of -18 meters, and each caisson will be fitted with a 5.78-meter-long underwater concrete sealing structure.

The Port of Granadilla is the last newly constructed port among Spain's major ports, designed to operate complementarily with the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (puerto de Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and to enhance port services on the island of Tenerife. The port is designed to accommodate large-tonnage vessels and large-scale logistics operations, with an associated industrial zone, making it a key logistics hub in the Atlantic.
