Dahan Village in Heishui Town is the core planting area for artemisia annua in Youyang. Known as the "World Capital of Artemisia Annua," Youyang accounts for 80% of global artemisia annua output, with a complete industrial chain from cultivation to pharmaceutical production. From July to August each year, artemisia annua is harvested intensively, with drying equipment in processing enterprises running at full capacity and electricity demand surging. State Grid Youyang Power Supply Company has conducted advance surveys of electricity loads at local artemisia annua processing plants, established power usage records for key enterprises, and scientifically dispatched power supply capacity.
At 9 a.m. that day, the service team entered the artemisia annua production workshop to inspect transformers, distribution cabinets, and power supply lines for drying production lines. They used infrared temperature measurement devices to monitor the operating temperature of electrical equipment, identified hazards such as line aging and improper grounding, and provided on-site guidance on standardized electrical operations. The team also proposed off-peak electricity usage recommendations based on the enterprises' production schedules, explained key points for maintaining electrical equipment during high-temperature seasons, and conducted safety awareness campaigns on electricity use. He Yin, head of Youyang County Yinhua Artemisia Annua Processing Enterprise, stated that power outages are the biggest concern during the artemisia annua processing period, and the power supply company's proactive annual inspections and assistance in optimizing power usage plans provide greater production security for the enterprise.
In addition to on-site inspections, State Grid Youyang Power Supply Company has opened a "green channel" for new electricity connection applications for additional drying equipment in factory areas, achieving "application on the same day, power connection the next day." Meanwhile, the company has strengthened special patrols of 10 kV lines around processing plants, utilizing drones for inspections of mountain-area lines, promptly clearing vegetation obstructions along corridors, and eliminating grid hazards under high-temperature and thunderstorm weather conditions.
After the inspection at the planting base, the service team proceeded to China Resources Sanjiu (Youyang) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., conducting comprehensive checks on the distribution room, power equipment on production lines, and emergency power supplies to ensure continuous and stable power supply, meeting the reliability requirements of pharmaceutical production. During the inspection, team members learned about the enterprise's current production electricity loads and future expansion plans, and offered suggestions on optimizing power usage plans and reducing energy costs.
