en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 30, the groundbreaking ceremony for the industrial plant project of Liebherr Aerospace Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was held in the Large Aircraft Park of Lingang New Area, Shanghai.
As a key supplier of the landing gear system for the domestically produced large aircraft C919, Liebherr Aerospace's newly established Shanghai plant is located on the north side of Phase III of the Large Aircraft Park (Lingang New Area of the Free Trade Zone). With a total construction area of 16,000 square meters, the project features a single-story steel structure design with a 30-meter span and an 18.30-meter building height, fully meeting the spatial requirements for the production and assembly of large aviation components.
It is reported that the construction of this Shanghai plant represents a significant extension of its global production capacity layout. The project will focus on building precision machining and production capabilities for high-strength structural steel components such as aircraft landing gear outer cylinders and piston rods, while also establishing an advanced surface treatment process line. Upon completion, the project will form a regional support center integrating manufacturing, surface treatment, and delivery, serving the production of COMAC's C919 nearby.
As Liebherr Aerospace's localization journey in Shanghai officially sets sail,theLarge Aircraft Park will continue to strengthen government-enterprise coordination and supply chain collaboration, continuously promote the clustering of upstream and downstream enterprises in the large aircraft industry chain, further boost the growth of the aviation manufacturing industry cluster in Lingang New Area, and inject new international momentum into Shanghai's high-end manufacturing sector.
