en.Wedoany.com Reported - Silverstream's air lubrication system has been installed on more than 160 vessels in service worldwide.

The new installations primarily come from the Grimaldi Group's last pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) "Grande Oriente," delivered in June, and Wallenius Wilhelmsen's PCTC "Arctic Tern," which entered service in July this year. This brings the total number of vessels in service equipped with Silverstream systems to 164.

The expansion in installations reflects the growing acceptance of air lubrication technology in the shipping industry. Independently verified, this technology can immediately reduce fuel consumption and emissions during vessel operation. Since its first commercial deployment, the Silverstream system has covered various vessel types, including cruise ships, container ships, LNG carriers, ro-ro/passenger ro-ro vessels, and PCTCs, demonstrating its applicability across diverse global fleets.

Noah Silberschmidt, founder and CEO of Silverstream, stated that surpassing 160 systems on vessels in service is a significant achievement, and he thanked customers, colleagues, and partners for their crucial roles in this process.

Silberschmidt added that shipowners are increasingly seeking solutions that address rising fuel costs and immediately reduce consumption and emissions; the growth of the company's installed fleet demonstrates that air lubrication technology is a reliable and proven component in future fleet planning.

Silverstream has formed a long-term alliance with the Grimaldi Group, deploying air lubrication systems across multiple vessel projects to support Grimaldi's goal of building a highly energy-efficient and sustainable fleet.
