en.Wedoany.com Reported - Anta Scaffolding, a professional scaffolding contractor, has secured part of the scaffolding works for Phase One of the Al Maktoum International Airport expansion in Dubai. The China-based company has thus entered the supply chain of the airport expansion project.

Its scope of work falls within the underground structure works package being implemented by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company. CHEC is leading a major infrastructure contract under Phase One of the airport project, and Anta Scaffolding provides specialized scaffolding support under this contract.

Developed by Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP), Al Maktoum International Airport is part of the Dubai World Central master plan. Under the plan, the airport will feature five parallel runways, five terminal buildings, and 400 boarding gates; upon full completion, it is expected to accommodate up to 260 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of cargo annually. The entire development is valued at approximately AED 128 billion (about USD 35 billion), with Phase One scheduled for completion in 2032.

The Anta Scaffolding project team has completed mobilization, with personnel, equipment, and materials all on site, and construction is progressing. Its scope includes scaffolding required for underground structure works in sections of the baggage handling center and tunnel network, which will provide access and support for construction activities.

Lane Pan, a representative of Anta Scaffolding, stated that CHEC is one of the main contractors for the underground structure works on the project, and Anta, as a specialized contractor, undertakes part of the related scaffolding works; the project team has been mobilized, with personnel, equipment, and materials all in place. He noted that projects like this are exactly the opportunities to demonstrate the true value of engineering experience.

It is currently summer in Dubai, where daytime temperatures often exceed 45°C. In compliance with the UAE's seasonal midday outdoor work restrictions, the construction schedule has been adjusted, with some works carried out in the evening and at night.
