Rangeview CEO and founder Cameron Schiller stated that the company supports Kratos's efforts to reshape economical engine production; the industry needs new casting capacity and a new generation of suppliers, and Rangeview is positioned to win projects through competitive bidding, build capacity, and transition complex superalloy castings from design to flight hardware in a fraction of the time of traditional methods, all completed within the United States.
Kratos Chief Engineer Russ Jones stated that Rangeview's casting technology offers flexibility, speed, and capability that traditional methods cannot achieve, with its process enabling complex geometries previously only possible through laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing, while utilizing high-performance cast superalloys. This development path is accelerating Kratos's engineering timelines while maintaining the performance and material properties required for advanced turbine applications.
Stacey Rock, President of Kratos's Turbine Technologies division, stated that Kratos is working with partners to solidify the supply chain in preparation for large-scale production of jet engines for unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles, and the agreement with Rangeview is a key element in the execution of that strategy.
