en.Wedoany.com Reported - Maruti Suzuki's July production reached 248,845 units, setting a new all-time monthly record for the company, a 33% increase from 187,073 units in the same period last year. This production level spans all passenger vehicle segments, reflecting sustained market demand and the company's ongoing capacity expansion.

The previous monthly production record was 231,933 units set in March 2026. This production breakthrough was primarily driven by robust domestic market demand and export demand, which Maruti Suzuki is addressing by expanding production scale. Production increased across all segments, including mini cars, compact cars, multi-purpose vehicles, and light commercial vehicles, with optimized production planning and new capacity added during the year being the main drivers of the output increase.

The record production was achieved against the backdrop of the commercial operation of the fourth manufacturing plant at Maruti Suzuki's Hansalpur facility in Gujarat. This new plant adds an annual production capacity of 250,000 units, bringing the total capacity of the Gujarat facility to 1 million units per year, further strengthening the company's overall manufacturing network. The capacity expansion will help alleviate the long-standing supply constraints for several popular models. Despite high production and sales volumes, the company still holds an outstanding order backlog of approximately 160,000 units, with dealer inventory at around 16 days, below the industry average.

Prior to the production record, Maruti Suzuki's domestic sales in July exceeded 200,000 units in a single month for the first time, also setting a new record. Strong demand for hatchbacks, compact sedans, and multi-purpose vehicles has enabled the company to increase production while maintaining its leadership position in the passenger vehicle market. Maruti Suzuki stated that future production growth will depend on the continued ramp-up progress at its various expanded plants, and the company will advance operational efficiency and manufacturing readiness alongside capacity expansion to support upcoming product launches and long-term growth plans.
