en.Wedoany.com Reported - K-RIDE has completed the erection of the first 15.45-meter-long T-beam at Huskur station on Corridor 4A of the Bengaluru Suburban Transport Project (BSTP). This corridor is part of the Kanaka Line, connecting Heelalige and Kaggadasapura, marking the first key milestone in precast beam construction along the project.

Corridor 4A comprises nine stations along its entire length, of which eight are at-grade stations and one is an elevated station. The line employs precast T-beam construction, a method designed to accelerate project execution while ensuring construction quality and safety.

The T-beam erection was carried out by contractor M/s RVNL–Rithwik (RPPL), under the joint supervision of K-RIDE and the General Consultant (GC). The operation was completed in compliance with applicable codes and established quality and safety requirements.

The erected T-beam measures 15.45 meters in length, weighs 47 tonnes per unit, and uses 17 cubic meters of concrete with a grade of M50, with design standards referencing applicable Indian railway and metro codes.

BSTP is a flagship infrastructure initiative for Bengaluru, aimed at developing a modern, efficient, and safe suburban rail network for the city. Upon commissioning, the project is expected to reduce commuting time, alleviate road congestion, and encourage greater adoption of environmentally sustainable public transport among citizens.

Shri Lakshman Singh, Managing Director of K-RIDE, stated that the completion of the first T-beam erection is a significant engineering milestone for the project. The precast technology, modern construction methods, and innovative solutions adopted in the project help accelerate construction while ensuring quality, durability, and safety. BSTP is being developed in line with advanced engineering practices and will provide Bengaluru with a suburban rail system upon completion.
