en.Wedoany.com Reported - The GT-1 geothermal exploration and assessment well has been officially spudded in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland. The well is planned to be drilled vertically to a depth of approximately 2,070 meters to assess whether underground thermal water can be used for heating, recreational activities, or balneotherapy. The drilling site is located at the Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej heating plant on Przemysłowa Street.

The geothermal well drilling contract was awarded to UOS Drilling in 2025. Multiconsult Polska Sp. z o.o., acting as the contractor's engineer, is responsible for investor supervision, geological supervision, and coordination of all works in accordance with the design documentation and formal legal requirements.
Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki is one of the municipalities in Poland eligible for funding under the "Polish Geothermal Water Acquisition" program. In 2023, the municipality was declared eligible for funding under this program within the framework of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOSiGW). The estimated total cost of the project is approximately PLN 12.9 million, and the subsidy can fully cover this amount.
